Q7. What can I expect on my first visit?

A. Usually the acupuncture treatment takes about one hour every time. The first visit lasts longer than subsequent ones; the practitioner takes an initial physical examination and notes the extensive medical history for every patient. Then, the practitioner puts all of this information together to make a diagnosis, identifying which pattern of disharmony is involved, and advises you on the course of treatment.
